What?
This is a blog in English about birth in Brazil, the challenges we face and the real stories of the great stuff that works here, hopefully it´ll inspire you in your local community.
Why?
Since my arrival in Brazil in late 2002 I have seen great change in the birth community, grassroots and consumer organizations have been formed, more professionals and government agencies are also working to improve birth and I am doing my part through my work.
Where exactly?
I live in city: Belo Horizonte, state: Minas Gerais, country: Brazil
Whenever possible I travel to other parts of the country to learn about local birth culture and practices.
Who?
I answer to: Alex, Mamãe or Mommy
I´m a mom to two amazing kids, a boy and a girl, both born naturally out-of-hospital, breastfed, massaged, slinged and loved!
I´m also a childbirth educator and assistant, originally trained in the US.
